Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves vs. Orange Panthers
Even though the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves have not done well against the Orange Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cedar Ridge secured a 37-32 W over the Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cedar Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Cedar Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amiyah Ware, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Ware has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Utley, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Cedar Ridge's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Orange, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Eastern Alamance will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Orange, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Person has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
