Baseball Game Preview: Raymond Rams vs. Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats

The Raymond Rams will face off against the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Raymond has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 7th.

Raymond made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Derryfield, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since April 23rd.

Kearsarge hit Hillsboro-Deering with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hillcats took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Hillcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillsboro-Deering saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrien Cordeiro, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Cordeiro has brought in this season.

Raymond's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Hillsboro-Deering, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Raymond skirted past Hillsboro-Deering 5-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Hillcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
