Volleyball Recap: Sam Houston Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Grand Prairie Gophers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gophers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Sam Houston was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-9.

Samera Burton paced Sam Houston's offense, picking up five kills. Burton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 12.

Sam Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-25-1. As for Grand Prairie, the victory got them back to even at 13-13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sam Houston is set to challenge their familiar foe Martin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grand Prairie will square off against rival Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
