Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mikalyn Causey and Emory Stewart Lead East Rowan to Victory

East Rowan's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Salisbury Hornets 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-20.

East Rowan was led to victory by Emory Stewart and Mikalyn Causey. Stewart had five digs and four aces, while Causey had two aces. Those four aces gave Stewart a new career-high. Leigan Lusk also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: East Rowan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The victory got East Rowan back to even at 5-5. As for Salisbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will square off against South Rowan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salisbury, they will challenge Lexington Senior at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
