Softball Recap: Central Kitsap Finds Playoff Glory Versus Timberline

Central Kitsap had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Timberline Blazers on Saturday as they made off with a 17-10 win. Considering the Cougars have won 15 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ariana Linder made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Central Kitsap got a massive performance out of Elle Bosh, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett Mabe, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Central Kitsap kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Central Kitsap pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Timberline, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5-1.

Looking ahead, Central Kitsap will take on Olympic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Timberline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
