Volleyball Recap: Strasburg Indians vs. Sterling Tigers
Strasburg and Sterling squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Strasburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sterling Tigers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Strasburg took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Natalie Damron paced Strasburg's offense, picking up 16 kills. Damron got some help from
Peighton Marrero and her 22 assists. Finally, Marrero was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Strasburg and nudges their season record down to 16-11. As for Sterling, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
Strasburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sterling has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Centauri on the 15th.
