Flag Football Game Preview: Gilbert Tigers vs. Skyline Coyotes

The Gilbert Tigers will head out to square off against the Skyline Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Gilbert's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Corona del Sol 28-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Among those leading the charge was Lilah Barton, who threw for 151 yards and two TDs. Janeah Huynh got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Gilbert didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Huynh got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Skyline not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 17, 2024 (when they won 41-0). They blew past Camelback, posting a 35-8 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Coyotes' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Skyline's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Gilbert, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Gilbert against Skyline in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 35-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
