Basketball Recap: St. John Lutheran Saints vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks
St. John Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks, falling 43-21. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Santa Fe Catholic was led to victory by Sasha Lawson and Angelina Rodriguez. Lawson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards, while Rodriguez dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Those 19 points gave Lawson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Hernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals.
St. John Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Santa Fe Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.
