It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but South Stokes ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Starmount Rams 9-8. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-7 win two weeks ago.

Tucker Monday was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Monday was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Duggins was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Samuel Kidd was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one double.

South Stokes' record is now 10-13. As for Starmount, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Looking ahead, South Stokes will square off against North Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Sauras' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Starmount does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
