Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

If Gilbert was riding high fresh off their 70-48 takedown of Nevada last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gilbert Tigers fell just short of the Carlisle Wildcats by a score of 53-51 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Carlisle, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Gilbert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-40 loss against Ballard on the 4th. As for Carlisle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-39 defeat against North Polk on the 3rd.
