Volleyball Recap: Roxana Comes Up Short

Roxana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Shells of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Roxana started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 25-10.

Despite the loss, Roxana still got an impressive performance from Ava Cherry, who had seven digs and three aces.

Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Father McGivney Catholic, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0-2.

Roxana has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Freeburg on the 9th. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Althoff Catholic on the 9th.
