Basketball Recap: Pennington Takes a Loss

Pennington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Locust Fork Hornets on Tuesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 44-37.

Locust Fork got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lynnleigh Tawbush out in front who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Tawbush a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Dutton, who had 12 points and four steals.

Pennington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Locust Fork, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pennington will head out to challenge West End at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Locust Fork, they will head out on the road to take on Mortimer Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
