Basketball Recap: Staunton River Comes Up Short

Staunton River lost against Lord Botetourt last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Staunton River Golden Eagles took a 53-35 bruising from the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Staunton River's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Lord Botetourt, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Staunton River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against William Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lord Botetourt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Lord Botetourt likes a good challenge.
