Volleyball Preview: Princess Anne Cavaliers vs. Kellam Knights
On Tuesday Princess Anne will have to hit the road after three straight games at home. They will venture away from home to square off against the Kellam Knights at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Princess Anne is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since September 10th on Thursday. Everything went their way against Tallwood as Princess Anne made off with a 3-0 victory.
Princess Anne never let Tallwood on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Kellam came tearing into Thursday's matchup with nine straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sundevils with a sharp 3-0 win.
Kellam never let Salem on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-23.
Kellam can attribute much of their success to Nathan Pyka, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Pyka has posted in his last nine games.
Princess Anne's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Kellam, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Princess Anne might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Kellam in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can Princess Anne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
