Softball Recap: Key West Has No Trouble Against Somerset Academy - Canyons

Key West never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars with a sharp 10-0 win. That's two games straight that the Conchs have won by exactly ten runs.

Ryleigh Harnish tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Alexa Condella was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavyn Gage, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Key West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Somerset Academy - Canyons only posted a batting average of .188.

The victory made it two in a row for Key West and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Key West will welcome Westminster Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars challenge the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
