Baseball Game Preview: North Pike Jaguars vs. Senatobia Warriors

The North Pike Jaguars will face off against the Senatobia Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Pike will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If North Pike beats Senatobia with six runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. North Pike sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Enterprise on Friday.

Haygan Hutson looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Peyton McGehee was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Race Willoughby, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Senatobia sidestepped Olive Branch for a 9-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Brody Coppedge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coppedge was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Coppedge wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Martavious Loveberry, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

North Pike's record now sits at 4-1. As for Senatobia, their record now sits at 2-0.
