Softball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers

Northwest Cabarrus hasn't had much luck against Mount Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Mount Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Northwest Cabarrus is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against East Rowan on Friday. They lost 14-2 to the Mustangs. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Northwest Cabarrus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Jung, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant came up short against Central Cabarrus on Thursday and fell 9-6. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Pleasant now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Northwest Cabarrus suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Mount Pleasant when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Northwest Cabarrus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
