Baseball Recap: Kirkwood Takes a Loss

Kirkwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 14-7 to the Rossview Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Monday.

Gus Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs. Peyton Deloach was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Kirkwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rossview, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-2-1.

Coming up, Kirkwood will take on Todd County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rossview, they will face off against Baylor at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
