Football Recap: North Newton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 31 points the game before, North Newton was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a 52-6 loss at the hands of the Rensselaer Central Bombers. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Carter Ogborn was nothing short of spectacular for Rensselaer Central: he rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Ogborn a new career-high. Rensselaer Central also got help from Rashad Claybon, who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rensselaer Central, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, North Newton will square off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Rensselaer Central, they will face off against Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
