Football Game Preview: Towers Titans vs. Lamar County Trojans

The Towers Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Lamar County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Towers was able to grind out a solid win over Southeast Whitfield County, taking the game 33-24. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Titans' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lamar County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against McNair by a score of 35-22. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly 13 points.

Towers better keep an eye on Ross Hamrick. He was instrumental in Lamar County's win, rushing for 104 yards and a pair of scores.

Lamar County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 309 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lamar County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Doctor and Joshua McDade. Lamar County received some extra help from Bryson Johnson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Towers now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lamar County, their record is now 5-0.

Towers was dealt a bruising 41-12 loss at the hands of Lamar County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Titans were down 34-0.
