Soccer Game Preview: Oak Park-River Forest vs. Downers Grove North

The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Downers Grove North Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oak Park-River Forest is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Proviso West with a sharp 15-0 win on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Oak Park-River Forest's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Proviso West are ranked 359th).

Meanwhile, Downers Grove North hadn't done well against Lyons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Lions.

Downers Grove North picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-6-4. As for Oak Park-River Forest, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-4-1.

Oak Park-River Forest beat Downers Grove North by a goal in their previous matchup back in April, winning 1-0. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
