Baseball Recap: Ransom Everglades Wins Going Away Against Riviera Prep

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ransom Everglades had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Riviera Prep Bulldogs as they made off with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Juan Velazco, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Tyler Grossfeld, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Ransom Everglades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riviera Prep only posted an OBP of .125.

Ransom Everglades' win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Riviera Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Ransom Everglades didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against True North Classical Academy on the 15th. Riviera Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
