Football Recap: John Carroll Catholic Comes Up Short

John Carroll Catholic had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it four. They were beaten by the Ramsay Rams 40-7. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Rams are ranked 39th).

As for Ramsay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jordan Smith was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.5 rushing yards per game. Jayden Martin was another key rusher, rushing for 91 yards and one score on only ten carries.

John Carroll Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-7 win against Montevallo on the 26th. As for Ramsay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 56-26 victory against Minor on the 26th.
