Basketball Game Preview: Hug Hawks vs. Fernley Vaqueros

Hug hasn't had much luck against Fernley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hug Hawks will head out to face off against the Fernley Vaqueros at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hug comes in on four and Fernley on five.

Last Friday, Hug got the win against Truckee by a conclusive 84-59. The Hawks pushed the score to 71-50 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Fernley earned a 54-41 victory over Churchill County on Friday.

Hug's record is now 12-13. As for Fernley, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Hug ended up a good deal behind Fernley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 76-57. Can Hug avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
