The Del Oro Golden Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Oro's defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so Granite Bay's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Del Oro will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up eight points last Friday, then bounced right back against Whitney on Friday. The Golden Eagles took their contest with ease, bagging a 49-21 win over the Wildcats. With the Golden Eagles ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Del Oro's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brock Sherman, who rushed for 156 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, and Nolen Sauve, who threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards Sherman has posted since back in September of 2024. Landen Parry also helped out with an impressive 98 receiving yards.
Del Oro didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Whitney to a completion percentage of just 47.6%. The team can thank Ashton Greenhalgh for the heroic effort on defense: he. Del Oro hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.67 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Granite Bay's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 21-14 to Oak Ridge. The game marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Del Oro will need to focus on slowing down Isaiah Ene, one of several Granite Bay players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 89 yards and one TD.
Even if they lost, Granite Bay's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Granite Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Del Oro has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Granite Bay struggles in that department as they've been averaging 222.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Del Oro came up short against Granite Bay in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 24-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ene, who rushed for 160 yards and one score.
