Softball Recap: Hackensack Takes a Loss

Hackensack was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northern Highlands Highlanders. That's two games in a row now that the Comets have lost by just one run.

Janae Neal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kaila Balon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hackensack's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Northern Highlands, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will take on Ramapo at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northern Highlands, they will square off against Bergenfield at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
