Baseball Recap: Anaheim Wins Going Away Against Saddleback

Anaheim barely beat Saddleback the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colonists were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Roadrunners on Tuesday. That 13-run margin sets a new team best for the Colonists this season.

The team relied heavily on Tomas Vega, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Issaic Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win (which was Anaheim's third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Saddleback, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Anaheim will challenge Godinez Fundamental at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Saddleback will be paying especially close attention to the Colonists' contest: after the Colonists face off against the Grizzlies, they'll take on Saddleback again at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
