Plainfield Central suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Plainfield South Cougars

The Plainfield Central Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 75-57 bruising from Plainfield South. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), Plainfield Central still had to take the loss.

Plainfield South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Demi Page led the charge by scoring 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Destynia Mcgruder, who scored 16 points.

Plainfield Central has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 1-6 record. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Plainfield South, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield Central will challenge Joliet West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainfield South, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenbard East at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Glenbard East presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Plainfield South in Illinois (Glenbard East is ranked 86th, while Plainfield South is ranked 319th).
