Recap: Rio Vista Eagles vs. Italy Gladiators

The Rio Vista Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down Italy 60-42. That's another feather in the cap for Rio Vista, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rio Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Filippo Bencetti, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 steals. Bencetti has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shamar Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Rio Vista has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Italy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Vista's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Hamilton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Italy, they will head out on the road to square off against Frost at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
