Soccer Game Preview: South Davidson vs. West Davidson

South Davidson hasn't had much luck against West Davidson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

South Davidson fell victim to Salisbury and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 4-0 to the Hornets. South Davidson have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, West Davidson strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Lexington. The result was nothing new for West Davidson, who have now won 13 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Lexington with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ava Jackson (3), Marley Gouker (3), and Lillian Benton.

West Davidson's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 67 goals over those ten games. As for South Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2.

South Davidson suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to West Davidson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
