Recap: Social Circle Redskins vs. Oglethorpe County Patriots
The Social Circle Redskins entered their tilt with the Oglethorpe County Patriots with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Social Circle secured a 14-10 W over Oglethorpe County on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Social Circle also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Social Circle can attribute much of their success to Sean Crews, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Oglethorpe County still got an impressive performance from Jake Turner, who rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown. Turner is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Social Circle's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Mount Paran Christian and 3-7 Loganville Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.6% over those games). As for Oglethorpe County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Social Circle will square off against Prince Avenue Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prince Avenue Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Social Circle in Georgia (Prince Avenue Christian is ranked 34th, while Social Circle is ranked 294th). As for Oglethorpe County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Jasper County at 7:30 p.m.
