Crown Point waltzed into their contest on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top against the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings by a score of 8-4.

Collin Bodnar tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Crown Point got a massive performance out of Billy Chidsey, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Dunlap, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Crown Point's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crown Point will face off against Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 1.7, the Indians 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they will venture away from home to take on Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
