Recap: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Cookeville Cavaliers

The Wilson Central Wildcats struggled with assists on Friday (the Cookeville Cavaliers had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wilson Central received a tough blow as they fell 63-47 to Cookeville. Wilson Central has not had much luck with Cookeville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadyn Cooper, who scored 21 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Fly, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Isabel Garcia was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds for Cookeville. Another player making a difference was Cara Lee Gilbert, who scored 15 points.

Wilson Central's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Cookeville, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Wilson Central is on the road again on Monday and plays Stewarts Creek at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th. Wilson Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season. As for Cookeville, they will take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cookeville is coming into the game with five straight victories on the road, so Lebanon will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
