Recap: Imagine Prep Storm vs. Heritage Academy Heroes
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Imagine Prep Storm, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 36-6 loss at the hands of Heritage Academy on Saturday. Imagine Prep's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Imagine Prep still got an impressive performance from Bryce Pollay, who rushed for 123 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown. Pollay hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Heritage Academy was led to victory by Kaden Bergman and Mattson Young. Bergman gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns, while Young threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was David Mota, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Imagine Prep to a paltry 233 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Heritage Academy's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 5.5 times before it was all said and done. Varis Carling was especially locked on to Imagine Prep's QB and sacked him three times.
Imagine Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Heritage Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Imagine Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heritage Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
