Softball Game Preview: Pac-Five Wolfpack vs. Sacred Hearts Academy Lancers

For the second straight game, Pac-Five will face off against Sacred Hearts Academy. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Two weeks ago, Pac-Five got the win against Sacred Hearts Academy by a conclusive 23-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

Mauiola Zuttermeister made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Zuttermeister was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kaimana Siu was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kylie Oshita, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Pac-Five always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacred Hearts Academy only posted an OBP of .385.

Sacred Hearts Academy is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2. As for Pac-Five, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Pac-Five's way against Sacred Hearts Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Pac-Five made off with a 23-3 victory. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
