Soccer Recap: Westgate Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous eight matchup, Westgate brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Their defense stepped up to hand the Episcopal of Acadiana Falcons a 9-0 shutout on Friday. Considering Westgate's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Westgate's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Episcopal of Acadiana, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Westgate and Episcopal of Acadiana will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Tigers see the pitch they'll take on Highland Baptist Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Episcopal of Acadiana, their break will end when they face North Vermilion at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026.
