Softball Game Preview: Bisbee Pumas vs. San Manuel Miners

Bisbee hasn't had much luck against San Manuel recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bisbee Pumas will welcome the San Manuel Miners at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Bisbee came up short against St. David and fell 7-4.

Jordan Holly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Maria Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Rodriguez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, San Manuel didn't have quite enough to beat Ray on Tuesday and fell 9-8.

Laila Ruiz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Audrey Hawkins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

San Manuel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bisbee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
