Volleyball Recap: Whitney Takes a Loss

Whitney suffered their biggest defeat since March 12th on Monday. They came up short against the Oak Ridge Trojans, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Whitney was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Nolan Hook and Cooper Michael, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Martin Lim and his 14 assists. Hook also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Carter Rabe, racking up two apiece.

Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Oak Ridge, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Whitney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Davis Sr. on the 2nd. As for Oak Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Del Oro on the 2nd.
