Basketball Recap: Grand Saline Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Grand Saline couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were outmatched by the Jefferson Bulldogs and fell 76-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered since December 16, 2025.

Despite the loss, Grand Saline still got an impressive performance from Weston Akins, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 20 points and eight boards. Akins is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last seven games he's played. Kolton Prox was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Grand Saline's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-9. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 30-3.

As of now, neither Grand Saline nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
