Basketball Recap: Colton-Pierrepont Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Colton-Pierrepont can now relate to. They fell 52-39 to the Harrisville Pirates on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 826th, while the Pirates are ranked 282nd).

Despite the loss, Colton-Pierrepont still got an impressive performance from Ty Farns, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. That was a full 43.6% of Colton-Pierrepont's points, marking the third time in a row Farns has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Trimm, who had nine points.

It was another big night for Aiden Chartrand, who put up 23 points for Harrisville. The match was Chartrand's third in a row with at least 19 points. Joe Shepherd was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Colton-Pierrepont's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Harrisville, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Colton-Pierrepont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harrisville, they have already played their next contest, a 47-31 victory against Hermon-DeKalb Central on the 28th.
