Baseball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Granite Bay Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Oak Ridge will face off against Granite Bay. The Trojans will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oak Ridge came up short against Granite Bay and fell 8-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Granite Bay's part, Drew Galbaugh tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Galbaugh has become a key player for the Grizzlies: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 7-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Brenden Pops was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Granite Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oak Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Granite Bay, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.
