Softball Game Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Encinal Jets

The Campolindo Cougars will face off against the Encinal Jets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Campolindo is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to Terra Linda.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Encinal made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. Joseph Notre Dame on Friday. Encinal was the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over St. Joseph Notre Dame. Considering the Jets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Tamyrah Jamison and Sherrielyn Ferrer did most of the damage at the plate: Jamison went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double, while Ferrer went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave Jamison a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiely Wong, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Encinal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Notre Dame only posted a batting average of .059.

Campolindo's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Encinal, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
