Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Warren County

After losing to Towns County the last time they met, Warren County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warren County Screaming Devils walked away with a 74-61 victory over the Towns County Indians on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Screaming Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Warren County was led to victory by Ra'Quavian Jones and Torossie Leslie. Jones went 10 for 19 on his way to 26 points and five steals, while Leslie went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Leslie's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Darius Hill was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

Warren County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Warren County pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Towns County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Warren County and Towns County will both be playing Taliaferro County the next time they take the court. Warren County will host Taliaferro County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Towns County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
