League recap: Henderson climbs in state rankings

Henderson moved up to 138 from 175 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Ches-Mont - National. The Warriors were able to make move up by besting George Washington 34-14.

Bishop Shanahan took down Norristown 31-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Garrett Girafalco was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 225 yards on 21 carries as Henderson fell to Unionville. Tre Green also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.

Girafalco was a beast in the backfield as Steve Mitten's team defeated the Eagles.

Girafalco was a passing and rushing force as the Warriors topped George Washington.

Kush was the best wideout in the league this week as the Red Devils fell to the Indians. Kush racked up 5 receptions for 70 yards. John D'Aquanno helped Avon Grove's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.

Jon Jon Roberts put up the best numbers in passing as East lost to Bayard Rustin. He finished with a total of 16 completions for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. Roberts' favorite target this week was Pat Downey, who caught 4 passes for 50 yards.

5-foot-9 quarterback Roberts of the Vikings is the league leader in passing yards this season with 675. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kush. The Avon Grove star has 21 catches for 269 yards.

As it stands, the Eagles are in second, while East is in fourth.

There should be lots of points scored when Downingtown West and Henderson face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Whippets comes in having scored 90 this season, while the Warriors have scored 82. Downingtown West scored 34 points last week as it fell to Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Henderson made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,415 from 4,217. The improvement was the result of 34-14 victory over Ron Cohen's team last week.
