Basketball Game Preview: Lake Creek Lions vs. Huntsville Hornets

The Lake Creek Lions will square off against the Huntsville Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lake Creek is returning to their home court after beating Montgomery on theirs, despite the fact Montgomery has dominated at home this season. Lake Creek managed a 54-49 win over Montgomery on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntsville). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rudder 98-62. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Rangers are ranked 613th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Huntsville pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Lake Creek, they now have a winning record of 17-16.
