Softball Recap: Atkins' Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Atkins brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the Carver Yellowjackets with a sharp 16-1 win on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Camels as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Emma Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Davis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Haas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Ava Fleming was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Atkins' win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Carver, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Atkins and Carver will both be playing Leadership Academy the next time they take the field. The Camels will head out to face the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
