Casteel faced Chandler in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Colts came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolves, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Casteel was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (100-94), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 11-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Jackson Kost paced Casteel's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kost got some help from Layton Bluth and his 34 assists. Jack Telford controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Chandler's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Quintana, who had 11 digs and two assists, and Ethan Dye, who had 21 kills and 14 digs. Dye has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 28 times he's played.

Casteel's win bumped their record up to 24-10-1. As for Chandler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Casteel is set to square off against their familiar foe Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Pumas a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Chandler will face off against rival Basha at 5:30 p.m. on the 25th.
