Preview: St. Paul Lutheran Giants vs. Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles
The St. Paul Lutheran Giants and the Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Paul Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, St. Paul Lutheran came up short against Arcadia Valley and fell 56-43.
St. Paul Lutheran's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mia Sherrill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Julie Lunsford who scored 16 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Lunsford posted two or more blocks.
Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Christian didn't have too much trouble with Thomas Jefferson School at home on Friday as they won 43-26. The victory was just what Eagle Ridge Christian needed coming off of a 54-24 loss in their prior game.
St. Paul Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Eagle Ridge Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
St. Paul Lutheran took their victory against Eagle Ridge Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2021 by a conclusive 60-40. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Eagle Ridge Christian's Rachel Margrabe, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
