Softball Recap: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Northwestern Tigers

There's no place like home for Tipton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Northwestern Tigers out 9-8. This was a revenge match for Tipton, as the team was forced to settle for a 4-3 defeat when these two played last Tuesday.

Ashlyn Nasser was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Conaway, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Northwestern's side, Tessa Ortman and Kendra Hughes stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ortman scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hughes scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Leah Turffs was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and a double.

Tipton pushed their record up to 3-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Northwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
