Ysleta is 9-1 against Clint since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ysleta Indians will head out to square off against the Clint Lions at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ysleta has four straight wins, Clint has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Ysleta didn't have too much breathing room in their match against San Elizario, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Eagles are ranked 963rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Azaiah Thompson, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 24 points along with five boards and four steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Ysleta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Soria, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Clint came up short against Mountain View on Tuesday and fell 58-49.

Clint's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Ysleta, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Ysleta took their victory against Clint in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 50-28. Will Ysleta repeat their success, or does Clint have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
